Is Disney Hotel New York New York For You?

Marvel is one of the most popular brands worldwide and Disneyland Paris has an entire hotel dedicated to the franchise, within walking distance from the parks.

The Disney Hotel New York New York – The Art of Marvel is situated next to the Disney Village. It is comprised entirely of marvel-themed rooms, characters and art. It is a 5-minute walk to the Disney Village and around another 5 to the park ticket gates. You can also take a free shuttle bus that takes you to the Marne-la-Vallee bus station, train station and park entrance security booths at around the same time.

This hotel is the second closest to the parks. The first is the Disneyland Hotel (in refurbishment till 2024) that sits literally on the Park entrance. Let’s take a closer look at The Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.

A Bit of Marvel History

Martin Goodman created Timely Comics in 1939 starting its life as a comic book publisher. Over the years the publisher’s name evolved and was known as Atlas Comics by 1951. By the time 1961 came around the company had launched “The Fantastic Four” and other well-known superheroes. Marvel was born with the help of creative geniuses such as  Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and of course many others.

In June 1998, Marvel Entertainment was formed through a merger of 2 companies; Marvel Entertainment Group and Toy Biz. Then 11 years later the company was purchased becoming a division of the Walt Disney Company allowing the franchise to scale and evolve.

Although Marvel had its characters on the big screen or on television previously with varied success, Disney took the franchise to a new level introducing its colossal inventory of characters to a new audience worldwide.
Marvel is now one of the most recognisable franchises worldwide with characters such as Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Spiderman, Black Widow, Black Panther, Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, Guardians of the Galaxy and many many more. All spearheaded by long-time Marvel producer, Marvel studios president and current Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Comics, Marvel Television and Marvel Animation, Kevin Feige.

Why Stay or Visit Disney Hotel New York New York – The Art of Marvel?

If you are a Marvel fan, whether you stay or not, this hotel is definitely worth a visit. The highest of standard experience, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff/ cast members along with outstanding facilities make each visit magical in a way Disney only knows how.

I spent some time going around the hotel and took many photos to give you a feel for the hotel. In advance, before you ask, I don’t take pictures of the hotel rooms as they are represented in a great way on Disney’s own website.

Getting to the Hotel

Getting to the Parks and Shuttle Bus

I timed myself from the hotel to the security gates and the results are negligible; around 5 minutes whether you walk or take the shuttle bus. In other words, you only need to take the shuttle bus if you have a physical reason. Otherwise, you are just being lazy 😜 and yes, I know, I took the shuttle but it was for scientific purposes 😏.

Rooms at Disney Hotel New York New York – The Art of Marvel are varied but include; Empire State Club Rooms, MARVEL-themed suites, The Art of MARVEL presidential suites, superior rooms and more. The rooms provide a great theme emersion that truly adds to the experience.

Restaurants, Café & Bars

There are plenty of places to eat and drink at Disney Hotel New York New York – The Art of Marvel.
These are:

• Manhattan Restaurant
• Downtown Restaurant
• Skyline Bar
• Bleeker Street Lounge
• Empire State Lounge

Each venue has its own unique menu and theme. You can book a table via the Disneyland Paris APP, website or directly at the venue. You can also book by calling the hotel directly on +33 825 30 05 00. It is also worthwhile noting that you do not need to be staying at the hotel in order to use these Restaurants, Café & Bars.

Pools, Spa and Gym Facilities

The Pool, Spa and Gym facilities at Disney Hotel New York New York – The Art of Marvel are fantastic. The pool itself is a comfortable size. It has a rectangular design and at the far end, there is a hot tub on a raised level. I haven’t currently managed to get any photos as it’s always been a bit awkward. I’m sure you understand. But if I can get permission I will update this section but for now, here’s a little bit of info so you can get an idea of what to expect.

For the Kids

There is a kid’s section called the Marvel Design Studio where your little ones can learn how to be a Marvel comic book artist. It’s great fun! The whole area is very colourful and of course, well-designed. Here are a few pics I snapped without being intrusive.

Super Hero Station

Want to meet your favourite MARVEL superheroes in a much more intimate setting. You can see them at Disney Hotel New York New York – The Art of Marvel. You can pre-book to see your heroes; Black Widow, Thor, Black Panther, Spiderman and much more. The superhero station is a fantastic setting for an autograph and a super photo. In addition, you can snap yourself in special superhero settings such as Peter Parker’s bedroom, with thors hammer and in the multiverse of madness. Here are a few pics I got with my daughter:

Please note that meeting MARVEL superheroes is a feature of this hotel only. Be sure to check the Hotel Program for information. 

New York Boutique

A well-designed and beautifully arranged Marvel and Disney souvenir, collectable and supply boutique. Located within the Disney Hotel New York New York- The Art of Marvel hotel, The boutique is open daily from 8.00 until 23.30. Be aware times may vary due to technical or logistical needs.

Electric Car Chargers

Electric cars are becoming much more commonplace in today’s society. Many venues and hotels are now starting to get on board by providing spaces within car parks dedicated to car charging. Disney Hotel New York New York – The Art of Marvel is no exception. A relief for Electric car owners who won’t need to get to the hotel, go out and find a charger on a random street only to walk back to the hotel. There are plenty of car chargers in the main car park, most are back to back with a charger for each parking space. You do have to provide your own cable. There are also Disabled parking spaces specifically with car charge points.

Numerous streets around Disneyland Paris, if you do have time to explore, have multiple fast chargers (2-4 hours). This also extends to and around Paris. I have not counted, but it seems everywhere I look there are chargers present. I have personally owned a Nissan Leaf since 2015 and naturally, I get excited when I see an EV charger 😂. I get excited a lot in Paris. If you know, you know. There are lots.
