Why Is Disney Hotel Cheyenne The Hotel For You?

A good old country and western movie does more than bring many of us back to our childhood. Remember sitting in front of the TV and shouting, “High Ho Silver away”? I do, and that good ol’ wholesomeness is what Disneyland Paris succeeded in achieving when building this hotel.

Disney Hotel Cheyenne is a country and western (or American old west) themed hotel. The hotel comprises many rooms organised in a style that resembles a small “town” scattered over various buildings and areas. Each building within the town is named after western favourites. Some of these include names such as Jessie James, Annie Oakley, Sitting Bull and Doc Holliday. The hotel has accessibility options, food and drink venues, laundry facilities and is of course extremely close to Disneyland Paris.

This hotel is close to the parks and arguably the 4th closest, in reference to walking time, after Sequoia Lodge. Disney Hotel Cheyenne is a lot of fun and has tons to offer. Let’s take a closer look.

A Bit of Disney Hotel Cheyenne History

Disney Hotel Cheyenne opened in 1992 alongside Disneyland Paris (known then as Euro Disney). It was designed by the Architect Robert A.M. Stern Architects who designed the Disney Newport Hotel and created it to resemble an “American Old West” quiet desert town.

The aesthetic look of the hotel started changing around the latter part of the 1990s. As the area was built out, over the years, features such as its white “desert” sand were converted to pavement in a bid to make the area more accessible for everyone. In fact, between 2015 – 2017 the entire hotel went through renovations taking the hotel from 2-star to 3-star. and lives up to this even today.

Across the adjoining river sits the Disney Hotel Santa Fe. For years, this made a beautiful backdrop for either side to gaze upon which incorporated beautiful clear views. In subsequent years, changes were made and the introduction of pine trees, amongst other features, changed the landscape forever. This change brought about a much more immersive theme experience for guests at each hotel.

Why Stay or Visit Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne?

I feel that the Disney Hotel Cheyenne is a must-stay whether you are on a small or large budget. The hotel and staff are of a high standard, offering clean rooms and helpful/ friendly cast members (staff) all creating a magical Disney experience that will not disappoint. In particular, I find the restaurant cast members great with the kids keeping them immersed in the experience. It’s such a great feeling and satisfying to watch as a parent. One cast member let my daughter wear his cowboy hat. She talks about that even now.

There are various activities throughout the hotel that are great for all types of guests. These include restaurants, a saloon, Starbucks, play areas, a souvenir boutique and more.

While exploring I took many photos and I hope they will give you a better feel for the hotel. As always, I don’t take pictures of the hotel rooms as they are represented sufficiently on Disney’s website.

I’ve put the pics into a handy video which can be found on my YouTube channel at this link and below in the video labelled Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne 1.1.

Getting to the Hotel

If you decide to drive or take the bus you can use the below address to get you to the hotel via GPS. I’ve also given you a map so you can pinpoint where the Disney Hotel Cheyenne is:

Getting to the Parks and Shuttle Bus

If you have read any of my other posts you will know I like to personally walk and take shuttle buses directly from the park. This is useful to give an average travel time as well as a walking pace my readers can rely on. All anyone has to do is adjust the times to themselves.

This hotel looks further than it is but in reality doesn’t take as long as you would think to get to the parks. I could walk to the Disney Village security gates in around 5 minutes and another 5 minutes to the park entrances.

The Shuttle bus, once moving, takes less than 5 minutes (with no traffic). But then it takes another 2-3 minutes to get to the security gate. Once through the gate (as it may take longer if there is a queue) it takes only 2-3 mins to the park entrances.

Here are some stats to show you a rough distance using my phone’s live GPS:

Rooms

Rooms at Disney Hotel Cheyenne are separated into different buildings across the town/complex. There are many different buildings with Old American favourite character names such as Annie Oakley, Sitting Bull, Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp, Billy the Kid and Running bear. It is such a fun addition that adds to the theme and experience.

Visit the Disneyland Paris website below to take a look at available rooms.

Restaurants, Café & Bars

There is a restaurant, a bar and a Starbucks Coffee at Disney Hotel Cheyenne.

Choose the restaurant you want below for more detail. If there’s an article here on blugenieblogger.com, you will be taken to it. If not, you will be taken to the Disney Hotel Cheyenne page on the Disneyland Paris website.

Each venue has its own unique menu and theme. You can book a table via the Disneyland Paris APP, website or directly at the venue. You can also book by calling the hotel directly on +33 1 60 45 62 00. It is also worthwhile noting that you do not need to be staying at the hotel in order to use these Restaurants, Café & Bars.

Pools, Spa and Gym Facilities

There are NO pool, spa or gym facilities at this hotel.

I know a bit silly having this here but it might save someone some time trying to search frantically for the answer.

Laundry

There is a laundry room with 2 Washing Machines and 2 Dryers. As of 2023, the token prices are as follows:

Disney Hotel Cheyenne – Laundry Room Prices

WhatTypeCost
Washing MachineToken€4.00
DryerToken€2.20
DetergentTablet€1.60

Below is a video of the laundry facilities at Disney Hotel Cheyenne.

The Laundry room also has a sink area, snack and drink vending machines, an ice machine and outdoor seating for those who want to sit and wait for their washing/drying.

As there are only 2 of each machine for the entire hotel, it’s a good idea to take enough clothes for your whole trip. Using the laundry facilities for emergency purposes is probably the way to go. But then again, in saying that I have never seen anyone using the laundry facilities to the point of being “busy”. So the choice is yours!

For the Kids

The hotel has quite a lot of open space for the kids to run around. There’s seating for adults to sit, relax, chat and have a drink while they do. There’s also a bandstand, wagons and table football, all great specifically in summer weather. Inside there is a small activity area for younger children to play and watch TV. Of course, I have snapped a few pictures below.

Central Store

The local store at Disney Hotel Cheyenne is a fair size with a mixed stock of souvenirs, snacks and clothing. Just for budding collectors out there, there are Disney Pins available for purchase. You can also enter the Store from 3 entrances; the main lobby, the front of the store entrance and the back entrance that leads to the courtyard.

Electric Car Chargers

With electric cars becoming much more commonplace in today’s society venues and hotels are getting on board by providing parking spaces with car charging. Disneys Hotel Cheyenne is no exception. Electric car owners no longer need to leave the hotel to find a charger on a random street. There are a lot of car chargers in the main hotel car park. Some of these are back to back which allows better use of spaces. Others are of course, on their own.

Each electric charging point provides sockets for 2 cars to charge with a dedicated space for each. Please be aware you have to provide your own cable. There are also Disabled parking spaces where disabled people have priority charging. I am unsure whether non-disabled people can charge here as the way the line is painted it does just look like its priority and not specific. But I have not been able to get a definitive answer. When I do I will update it here.

FYI, numerous streets around Disneyland Paris, if you do have time to explore, have multiple fast chargers (2-4 hours). This also extends to Paris. I have not counted, but it seems everywhere I look there are chargers.

I have a few pictures below that show the areas at the hotel.

Standard Amenities

In my experience, Disneyland Paris Hotels provide a minimum standard of amenities across all accommodations available to all guests. Make sure to contact reception if you need more details. Below is a representation of what is available.

Let’s Round It Up!

Disneyland Paris and Disney Hotel Cheyenne put a lot of work into keeping and maintaining a high standard when it comes to this hotel. It really does reflect in its 3-star rating.

Even if you’re staying elsewhere you can still visit the hotel, make reservations at the restaurants, use the bars and cafés, shop or just hang out. The hotel is fun with a fantastic theme which can be enjoyed by everyone and all ages. You may even be able to see a Disney character or two at the hotel for some signing and photo ops. So make sure you check the schedule.

I hope this has been helpful. If you would like to know about other Disney or Partner hotels in the area feel free to check out more of my Disney articles.

As always have fun.
