If you’re heading to Disneyland Paris for a few days you are probably going to pack enough clothes to last the trip. But what If you’re there longer due to an extension, a business trip, travelling on somewhere or there is an unfortunate spill? What if you suddenly need a washing machine or tumble dryer?
Disney Hotel Cheyenne has a self-service laundry room. It is the only on-site hotel around the Disney Paris parks that has this facility. Guests staying at the Disney sister hotels in the area have access here as most only offer a valet Laundry Service. Separately, other, non-Disney affiliated hotels cannot officially access this laundry but may offer both or one of these services at their own venue.
Let’s discuss the Disney Hotel Laundry services, accessibility and more so that when arriving at the parks you have a good idea of what to expect. This may be a very useful article if you want to pack light or have kids like mine who just get mucky the second you turn your back. Let’s get into it.
Washing My Clothes On a Disneyland Paris Vacation
Contrary to belief, there is only one self-service laundry within the Disneyland Paris Hotel area that can be used by guests. Many other blogs have reported that there is one at Disney Hotel Santa Fe and others. However, this is false. Of course, most of the hotels have valet laundry services but sometimes it’s just easier and quicker to do it yourself.
Disney Hotel Cheyenne offers a very accessible self-service laundry facility situated fairly close to the hotel’s main building. The laundry itself is located on its own so it’s pretty hard to annoy other hotel guests during unsociable hours. The laundry has vending machines for cold drinks and snacks available for purchase. If you wish, while you wait, you can sit at the wooden barrels and chairs outside on the porch.
Here’s a video showing the facility in its entirety:
Another bonus, the laundry happens to be diagonally across from the hotel’s Starbucks Coffee which, is accessible to everyone. See more on the Starbucks at Disney Hotel Cheyenne here.
Where Exactly Is The Self-Service Laundry Located?
As mentioned above, the laundry room is close to the main entrance of Disney Hotel Cheyenne. The map below pinpoints EXACTLY where the building is:
How Much Does The Self-Service Laundry Cost?
Below, I was able to get a couple of photos of the current laundry service prices.
Prices
What? | French Word | Price (€) |
Washing Token | Jeton De Lavage | 4.00€ |
Drying Token | Jeton De Séchage | 2.20€ |
Detergent Tablets | Pastille De Lessive | 1.60€ |
Should I Use The Detergent Tablets At Disney Hotel Cheyenne
The purchasable washing tablets at the Laundry facility is definitely fine.
If you can’t use the “in-house” tablets, then there are a few options. Obviously, you can just take some with you. But if you are flying and need the room or just don’t want to carry something that you can buy when you get there, then it’s worth buying at one of the local supermarkets.
There are quite a few supermarkets and local shops in the area. My favourite for value and easy access is in Val d’ Europe which is only 1 stop on the metro. There are quite a few options here. The biggest and easiest is the supermarket, “Auchan”.
This place is huge and within the shopping mall at Val d’ Europe. Here, you can definitely find all the popular laundry brands. Ariel, Dash and Skip are at the top end with other brands available. Prices for anything from liquids to powder, gel and tablets are available averaging between €4 – €20.
Here is a map to show AUCHAN’s location along with a train map showing where to get off.
Bus and Train Tickets
Tickets for trains and buses can be purchased at the train station at Disneyland Paris. For buses, you can also purchase a ticket via SMS.
A train ticket can be bought for around €2.15 at the station. A cheaper option if you are making multiple journeys is buying a Navigo Pass. These can be loaded daily weekly or monthly. What option you use depends on your stay and whether you will be travelling further afield. Use the following link to the Navigo page on the RER Website for options.
If you’re only making 1 trip the quickest way is definitely buying a return ticket via the RER train.
You could however take the bus and see a few sites on route. You can get on at the bus station near the station. You will get there. However, It is much quicker to go to the bus terminus on the other side, near the entrance close to the Five Guys Restaurant. It will get you there much quicker.
Ok back to the laundry room itself.
How To Get To The Laundry Room and Accessibility
Getting to the laundry room at Disney Hotel Cheyenne is simple from the parks. You can of course go via the main road (the bus route) via bus or walking. Keep in mind you will have to go through security at the gate when accessing the hotel this way.
On the other hand, if you are staying at the other hotels you can go via the lake Disney route. This about a 5-minutes walk from the Disney Village security check area. Coming directly from the hotels can take from 2 to 10 minutes on foot depending on where you are coming from. Of course, there is no security check using this route as you should have been checked at your own hotel. It’s all really 1 big complex!
For accessibility, everything is floor-level level getting to the laundry building. However, there currently does not seem to be a ramp at the building itself as shown here:
If you do need to access and require a ramp then your best bet at the moment is to talk to reception at the hotel. If you are not staying at the hotel itself I would also ask at your own Disney accommodation for advice. They may be able to phone ahead for you. But in any event, go to the Disney Hotel Cheyenne reception.
Conclusion
Contrary to other bloggers, after meticulously walking around them myself and speaking with cast members, I have discovered 1st hand that there is only one self-laundry room within all the Disney hotels.
This laundry room is available to all guests when staying at the Disney Hotels in Paris. The other hotels also have valet laundry services at a premium cost. The self-laundry room is around €6.20 to do a full wash and dry, which is fairly standard around the area.
The laundry building itself does not have a ramp but the step-up is fairly low. But if you do require help then reception is a good place to start.
Travelling to the hotel is simple and quick when walking or taking the shuttle bus from the parks.
Overall, the laundry room is a great little addition to your stay. Especially for emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. The fact that all Disney hotel guests can use it is a bonus. So, keep it in good condition if you do use it and be courteous to others. That way everyone who needs it can have access for years to come.
One final note, the laundry room has never been busy when Ive been there. Take that as you will. But don’t shoot the messenger if its packed when you get there 😂
